The craft

One wall, and the room changes.

A feature wall is mostly about proportion: the spacing of the slats, the height of the batten, the line of the panels. Barkley Carpentry sets the pattern out for your wall and the room around it, then builds and finishes it in place. Every feature wall Barkley builds in Pilot Point reads as architecture rather than a kit on the wall.

A / set out

Set the pattern

The layout, spacing, and height worked out for the wall and the room.

B / build

Build the wall

Slats, battens, or panels fixed true and tight to the wall.

C / finish

Finish in place

Filled, sanded, and painted or sealed to suit the room.

Common questions

About accent walls.

What styles of accent wall do you build?

Wood slat walls, board and batten, wainscoting, and paneled feature walls. The style is chosen to suit the room and the way the light falls across it.

Do you design the pattern, or just install it?

Both. Barkley sets out the pattern and the spacing for the wall and the room, then builds and finishes it on site, so it is made for that wall rather than a kit.
